When I first tried food from an electric smoker I was hooked.  My coworker showed me his.  A nice Bradley.

It was loaded with technology and was simple to use

As I paid more attention to him smoking I began to see the drawbacks and limitations of it though.  It uses a proprietary wood puck system, it had a hard time maintaining a constant temperature, had a very bad hot spot(entire rear of the smoker) and in the Minnesota winter it couldn't get up to a smoking temperature.

I wanted a smoker and at that time (2011) the selection of electric smokers was quite limited.

The more I researched the more I was drawn to the Masterbuilt line.

I purchased the model 20070311. It is basic, easy to use, well insulated, it has a nice wood chip loading system that doesn't require someone to open the door and it doesn't use a proprietary wood puck.

I still have this smoker and I love it.  It can heat from 120°-275° and can run continuously for upto 24 hours.  It has 4 racks and can smoke a lot if meat.

I'm a bbq enthusiast and I have several other smokers, but I keep coming back to this one. " - Greg Wester
